From my freshman years up til now you have continuously guided us. You have imparted us with knowledge through your lectures, stories of your experiences and exams. I remember back then that you give names to the students in the class. You called me “Kitty”, although I don’t know the reason why you called me that. You even praised me one time by saying I am actually pretty, I give you a heartfelt thank you! Your teachings, praises, jokes and frankness has made college life in Chinese a little bit bearable.

As the semester came to an end you apologized to us. The apology was unnecessary. We do not blame you for what has happened and we understand it full well. We ourselves experience it first hand from our parents: How a mother will do just about anything to make sure that her child is healthy. Your parting words has deeply touched each one of us. Don’t worry, we love you no matter what.

This may seem corny or even pretentious, but come to think of it what will I gain in doing this? Nothing. Class is over, grades are given and as you have said before you’ll be retiring next semester. I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for everything. Be strong Ma’am! We’ll be praying for your family’s being. Please come back and continue teaching.

“ And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” (1 Peter 5:10)
